The Co-ordinates

Page history last edited by Thomas 2 yrs ago

Hello. We are the co-ordinates our names are Thomas Jamie and Adam. We never all agreed on the name, we got the name because Adam shouted out the one he wanted - but we all like it anyway!!!!!!!

Jamie said " I don't really like maths but I love maths now because of the new blog and way of working."

The new way of working is we work out problems in groups then we use an MP3 to podcast how we did it.

Thomas said " I don't have an mp3 player but I know roughly how to use one now."

Adam said"I think the new way of working is great."

If we didnt have the blog we would be doing sums out a textbook. Yesterday we made questions about bullying and turned it into a questionare

Today we learned about shapes. We had a power point presentation to help us learn about 3D shapes. It included tetrahedrons, spheres, cubes, cuboids etc. Learning with a smart board makes it fun. The way Miss Goodsir teaches us helps us to learn quicker and have more fun than from copying from textbooks all the time. Date: 8/2/07

This week we have been learning how to use protractors to find the answer to the angles in the textbooks. We have been doing angles from the range of 0 to 360 degrees. We understand it better when Mrs V gives us a hand though. We use protracters to measure the angles on the textbooks, acute and obtuse angles are easier  than reflex because you have to measure the outside of the angles.Acute angles are  smaller than 90 degrees angles, obtuse angles are bigger than 90 degrees and reflex are bigger than 180 degrees. 180 degress is half way, 90 degrees is a quarter, 270 degrees is three quarters of the way round and 360 degrees is the whole thing. We have been using protractors to help us measure the angles you use them by puting the midle at the point of the angle and the line on one line and the other line will tell you how big it is
